What to Listen To When You Can't Read

Eye surgery - must limit my reading and light in the eyes! So I have gravitated to audio books for now but find I like them so much, I might just continue listening to them.

1. Audio books completed:

by Sue Monk Kidd Traveling with Pomegranates
by Sue Monk Kidd , Traveling with Pomegranates, a mother-daughter memoir.

Death of a Dreamer (Hamish Macbeth Mysteries, No. 22) by M.C. Beaton, a mystery set in the Scottish highlands.

2. Audio books just borrowed:

The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd, a novel set in the South.

The Angel's GameThe Angel's Game by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, a fantasy, magical realism set in Spain.

Remarkable Creatures: A NovelRemarkable Creatures: A Novel by Tracy Chevalier, literary fiction by the author of The Girl with the Pearl Earring

Finger Lickin' Fifteen (Stephanie Plum)by Janet Evanovich, a mystery series set in New Jersey.


  1. I hope you will be well enough to read soon, but it is good that you have other options while you are waiting.

  4. Hope you're feeling better soon. I enjoy print books, but I also love audio books. They are great when you want to do things in the house or yard, you can still 'read' a book. I especially like them driving. I don't mind traffic as much listening to a book.

  5. Hope your sight recovers quickly, but I think continuing with the audiobooks you have there sounds great too! I was a sceptic for so long but once I tried my first audiobook I was hooked!

  8. My brother-in-law had the surgery and I know I have to get the courage up to do it!
