I'm enjoying reading this novel about a Jewish family escaping from Nazi occupied Austria, traveling to Shanghai, China as refugees. We follow young Romy and her parents in Shanghai, moving back and forth in time to when Romy has her own family and grandchildren in Australia after leaving China at the end of WWII. And we see Romy's granddaughter Alexandra, trying to find her way in the present, 2016, through her family's wartime history.

  1. The Song of the Jade Lily and The Great Pretenders both look like wonderful reads. The plot summary of each sounds unique and promising.

    I would pick up All of Us With Wings first. I am always on the lookout for stories with Hispanic protagonists.

  3. These all sound so good! I am especially looking forward to reading The Song of the Jade Lily. The dual timeline and tie in to World War II. I am glad you are enjoying it so far. The Great Pretenders is a new to me title, but I'm intrigued! The Perfect Fraud sounds like something I would like as well. I hope you enjoy each of these! Have a great week!
