Sunday Salon: Weeks of Very Hot Weather Produce Flowers

Getting ready for more hot weather: It's been high 80s into the 90s the past 10 days or so and seems this will continue another week, with temps going up to 100 degrees midweek. Thank heavens for our central air, which we put in last year.

The garden is going great, however, due to the rain in spring.

  1. It is getting hotter by the minute here in Dubai too. We are trying to stay in anyway, so summer is not that bad in 2020. I hope you enjoy those lovely books.

  2. Your books look good! Our temps will be triple digits all week, but the highest will be around 107. I still remember the year (2006) when it topped 110 for fourteen days. I headed for the coast. Not an option these days, but the AC is pretty good.

Enjoy your week, and here are my WEEKLY UPDATES

  3. We always have hot days in the summer, but we almost never get into the 100s because we are so close to the Gulf. We always have a nice breeze, too. Of course, on the downside, we also occasionally get hurricanes.... And we could not survive (of course I did until we got central air when I was eight) without air conditioning.

Beautiful purple flowers. I regret that I didn't get some flower seeds this spring. By the time I started looking online, they were gone. Maybe I should look now for fall.

I enjoyed Gentleman in Moscow so much. The central character and his situation is fascinating, I thought.

  5. The weather is turning hot here too, with the temperatures between 80 and close to 90. We're supposed to have some rain in the middle of next week, and hopefully that will cool down the air a little bit. I hope you enjoy your book for the book club! Stay safe and happy reading.

  9. I can't stand it when it gets too hot... One of the reasons I'm a lover of Autumn! :)

  13. It’s the middle of winter here though it hasn’t been cold enough yet to need the aircon on, my heated throw works well enough.

Wishing you a great reading week, stay cool
