a family making a fresh start moves into a house which was the site of an unsolved triple homicide."
There's a problem right there, in my opinion - choosing the wrong house for a young family! But this may make a better thriller.

Genre: international thriller
About: The novel follows Ariel Price, newly married, after she wakes up in her hotel room during a business trip to Lisbon. Her husband is nowhere in sight and she must find answers to his disappearance on her own.
I haven't started on the first two books and am finishing up the last two ARCs.
Oh my goodness...no! The Other Family sounds terrifying. Why would you bring your young family to a house like that? Even a bargain wouldn't entice me.
ReplyDeleteAnd Two Nights in Lisbon sounds great, too!
Seems the family didn't know the history of the house before they moved in. Still makes for a scary time.
DeleteInteresting to see another 1920s era woman in India. I'm a fan of the Sujata Massey tales of Perveen Mistry, the first female lawyer in Bombay, India in the 1920s.
ReplyDeletebest... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
I've enjoyed Massey's books and can't wait to see how this is similar or different.
DeleteThe Bangalore Detectives Club looks intriguing. I will look forward to your thoughts on it!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to reading it.
DeleteTwo Nights in Lisbon sounds really good. I don't think I've read a book set in Lisbon before. I hope you enjoy all these books.
ReplyDeleteSettings in books are important to me, so I gravitate to novels set in different places.
DeleteAll of these sound good to me. Hope you enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting, Mark.
DeleteI need to find more books set in India. It's one of the most populated countries, but I don't know much about it.
ReplyDeleteThere are lots of books being written now by Indian or South Asian authors - mysteries, rom coms, literary fiction, etc.
DeleteTwo Nights in Lisbon sounds like something I would like-- and the author, Chris Pavone wrote a few other international thrillers about ex-pats that I never got to read.
ReplyDeleteI used to read all the Wendy Corsi Staub books, but that one sounds downright creepy. Hope they got a good price on a home that was a murder site-- the realtor has to disclose that, lol.
In the Other Family, the realtor didn't disclose the murders in the home they rented! They could have gotten out of the lease!
DeleteYeah that seems like a poor housing choice. I love the look of Bangalore as well.
ReplyDeleteEager to read Bangalaore. Lovely cover.
DeleteI loved The Other Family, and now I am very curious about An Honest Lie, with me as the lead character (Lorraine - Rainy), LOL.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week!
I'm curious about An Honest Lie too, and Las Vegas!
