a family making a fresh start moves into a house which was the site of an unsolved triple homicide."
There's a problem right there, in my opinion -  choosing the wrong house for a young family! But this may make a better thriller.

Two Nights in Lisbon by Chris Pavone, May 24, 2022, NetGalley
Genre: international thriller
About: The novel follows Ariel Price, newly married, after she wakes up in her hotel room during a business trip to Lisbon. Her husband is nowhere in sight and she must find answers to his disappearance on her own.

I haven't started on the first two books and am finishing up the last two ARCs.

  1. Oh my goodness...no! The Other Family sounds terrifying. Why would you bring your young family to a house like that? Even a bargain wouldn't entice me.

And Two Nights in Lisbon sounds great, too!

    1. Seems the family didn't know the history of the house before they moved in. Still makes for a scary time.

  2. Interesting to see another 1920s era woman in India. I'm a fan of the Sujata Massey tales of Perveen Mistry, the first female lawyer in Bombay, India in the 1920s.

    1. There are lots of books being written now by Indian or South Asian authors - mysteries, rom coms, literary fiction, etc.

  7. Two Nights in Lisbon sounds like something I would like-- and the author, Chris Pavone wrote a few other international thrillers about ex-pats that I never got to read.
I used to read all the Wendy Corsi Staub books, but that one sounds downright creepy. Hope they got a good price on a home that was a murder site-- the realtor has to disclose that, lol.

    1. In the Other Family, the realtor didn't disclose the murders in the home they rented! They could have gotten out of the lease!
