Are You Smart Enough to Work at Google? by William Poundstone

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB and asks you to choose sentences at random from your current read. Identify the author and title for readers.

"Perhaps success is a matter not so much of being smarter, but of being less entitled. And tenacity is a big part of creativity. That is the unstated thesis of today's interview by ordeal. As one former Google interviewer said, "The goal is to find out where the candidates run out of ideas."  (ch. 10)

  1. What a weird question! It definitely makes me want to read the book, but I have no idea of how I would answer that one

  2. I don't find that question weird at all. You need to be a creative person with a vast supply of ideas to be in that industry. It changes all the time, as we do, and always needs a fresh perspective.

  5. I won this book on Leslie's blog, Under My Apple Tree, and have read some of it. Google sounds like an incredible place to work!! (The random questions brought to mind the random questions you can answer in your Blogger profile. Creativity is key!)

  6. That sounds like a great read! I'm constantly talking to my students about really thinking - and being creative. Memorizing facts isn't helpful in this world - we need to know how to think!
