But something else was down there, something big. As she stood on the stone floor of what was, undeniably, an undercroft - a crypt such as a monastery might have - awe feathered her spine. (ch. 7)

Sounds good. I wanted to be an archaeologist when I was younger. I must be on a "dark" kick this week. My teasers are from Dark Companion by Marta Acosta and Darkness All Around by Doug Magee. Happy reading!

ReplyDeleteThanks for this review. I'm adding it to my Goodreads tbr list. It sounds like my kind of read.
ReplyDeleteI read her War of the Roses series and loved it! Very strong female characters, and her words created vivid pictures in my mind. Didn't know she had a new release. Thanks Harvee.
ReplyDeleteHas all the makings of a great novel: romance, Vikings, an island and 800s.
ReplyDeleteMy major is anthropology/archaeology. I loved my visit to Scotland. I even went to visit the Loch Ness Monster but Nessie did not show that day.
I have requested from my library and had to go through MNLINK and found it in two libraries in Minnesota so far. MNLINK lets me request any book from a Minnesota library.
